Planetary Coral Reef
Foundation offers the opportunity to a few qualified people to
participate fully in its unique expedition of science and adventure on
board the
SV Infinity.
In the past twenty years, more
than one hundred people, from ages of 18 to 50, have successfully
completed this program at sea. They have come from more than twenty
cultures including Venezuela, Mexico, Germany, Great Britain, France,
Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, India, Italy, Portugal, USA, South
Africa, New Zealand, Vietnam, Solomon Islands and Australia.
Meet the Crew!
The education and science nine
month program at sea includes:
The training program
will include:
"Learning the Ropes"; becoming an able-bodied seaman and
practical hands-on experience with all aspects of seamanship:
navigation, rigging, sailing, basic engineering, maintenance, cuisine,
etc.,
"Learning
about the Sea"; becoming a planetary voyager and interacting with marine life
and the environment

"Learning Coral Reef
Science"; trained in diving and
coral reef research,
and
"Learning About Others." As part of the team member you will embark on
the journey with an international team engaged in building a community
at sea. Living at sea on small ships provides a unique opportunity
to gain experience in group dynamics - all on board must learn to work
together by the very nature of the expedition.
As well, you will meet
with island people and participate in cultural interactions that will
include feasts, music, dance, films and slide shows.
