Klaus Eiberle was born on December 7,1961 in Tuttlingen, Germany where he lived and studied until 1982. Since then, he has been traveling and working on various projects around the world. In 1985 he joined the ocean going research vessel RV Heraclitus in Sri Lanka and captained the ship from 1988 to 1991 on its expedition around South America and to the Antarctic Peninsula.
From 1992 to 1998, Klaus lived in Belize, Central America where he started a diving business, Blue Planet Divers and explored the remote coral reef atolls of Belize. From 1998 to 1999, Klaus worked on the Yucatan coast of Mexico with the Planetary Coral Reef Foundation as Production Manager and Technical Supervisor of ecological sewage treatment systems called "Wastewater Gardens".
In January 2000, Klaus joined PCRF and returned to RV Heraclitus as its Captain where he sailed with the ship in the South East Asia Seas, Melanesia and Micronesia and across the North Pacific and South Pacific Oceans.
In September 2006 he moved with PCRF from the RV Heraclitus to the SV Infinity to continue the 2000 to 2010 Planetary Coral Reef Expedition.
