Carol Milner was born on February 25, 1975 in Bridlington, in the North of England, where she grew up on an arable farm. After three years at Sheffield University studying East Asian culture, business and politics, she became a broadcast engineer for the BBC in London from 1997 to 2001. During those four years, she learned to dive while traveling to Egypt and Asia and spent three months on a coral reef research project in the Philippines. In 2001, she continued her travels and spent time teaching English in Prague and France.
Carol's love of the sea and fascination with coral reefs brought her to PCRF's research vessel, Heraclitus, in Thailand in 2001 where she became First Mate and Systems Engineer.
Carol is continuing with her role and responsibility on board the SV Infinity and dedicating the next years of her life to studying coral reefs, exploring cultures worldwide. Her aim is to keep the SV Infinity systems up and running!
